Uniagro last week launched herb pots made from organic plastic.
The pots, which are made from waste matter such as straw and sweetcorn husks, can be made to order in different shapes and sizes.
Phil Morris from Uniagro told freshinfo: “These pots do not take any food out of the food chain, but are instead made from waste. The pot and the transparent cover are both made from organic material, which can break down completely in a compost heap within six months.”
