Strategic review sees Perfection Fresh cease table grape farming operations, shifting supply to third-party growers
Perfection Fresh Australia (PFA) has announced that it has exited its table grape farming operations, which were conducted through Fruit Master Farm Operations. Fruit Master was wound up last month, with liquidators appointed on 29 July.
The leading Australian fresh produce company said the difficult decision followed a strategic review and that all other PFA farms and sites remain fully operational and are not impacted.
“This move follows a comprehensive strategic review of our operations and reflects the need to focus resources on our core strengths, amid ongoing broader industry challenges, including the continued impact of the tomato virus,” a Perfection Fresh spokesperson said.
“This decision affects only our grape farming operations. As mentioned, every other PFA farm and site remains fully operational and are not impacted by this decision.”
“Customers can be assured there will be no disruption to current grape supply. We will continue to partner with our long-standing, trusted third-party growers, as we have done for many years.”
Perfection Fresh said it would offer all affected employees (expected to be around 10 people) alternate roles within Perfection Fresh, where possible.
“All affected employees will receive their full entitlements, including notice, redundancy, leave, and superannuation. We are supporting each team member with care and respect, including access to information sessions and additional transition resources,” said the spokesperson.
Perfection Fresh acquired full ownership of Fruit Master back in 2021, but their operations had been connected since 2016.
