Fresh produce company Dole Asia has named U&I Agriculture Corporation as its sole distributor of Dole bananas in Vietnam reports Viet Nam News.
The investment firm owns subsidiaries in logistics, retail and farming, including Unifarm, which owns 400ha of fruit and vegetable farms in Vietnam.
U&I was also the first GlobalGAP-certified banana producer in the country, according to Dole vice president of Asian business development, Johann Albano.
Albano told the Vietnamese news site the partnership would “further strengthen our position as one of the leading providers of quality bananas in the Vietnamese market”.
