Freskon

Freskon, the international trade show for fruit and vegetables, returns to Thessaloniki in northern Greece on 11-13 April for the fifth edition of the show. According to organisers TIF-Helexpo, the exhibition already serves as an important annual meeting place for producers, international retail groups and both domestic and international transporters of fresh fruits and vegetables.

“Freskon will transform the International Exhibition Centre of Thessaloniki into the focal point of the fresh fruit and vegetable market of south-eastern Europe,” TIF-Helexpo announced. “During the event, exhibitors will meet representatives from major international supermarkets chains, commercial businesses and distribution company networks. At the same time, the exhibition will host international exhibitors who are active in the sector and represent the cutting edge in fresh fruits, vegetables, logistics and packaging machinery and materials.”

This year, participation at the exhibition includes companies from Greece, Cyprus, Egypt, Argentina, Bulgaria, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Poland, Spain, the Netherlands, Serbia and Syria.

According to TIF-Helexpo, this year’s Freskon will be visited by hundreds of hosted buyers from dozens of countries. “At last year’s event over 2,500 meetings were held between representatives of Greek companies and producers and international hosted buyers,” the organisers stated. “Group delegations of hosted buyers from neighbouring Balkan countries will also join the exhibition, while Freskon will implement a targeted marketing and promotional programme towards them.”

Events held during the exhibition are set to include FreshCon Market, a service provided exclusively for exhibitors which brings agriculture sector professionals into direct contact with major supermarket chains, creating the right conditions for immediate business deals.

Freskon's International Congress is this year focused on peaches, with important speakers from leading peach-producing countries, including Spain, Italy and Greece.

Finally, Digital Greece will provide a space for decision-makers who are interested in making contact with innovative start-ups related to the sector.
