Zeus Kiwi will sell organic kiwifruit for the first time this season

Leading Greek kiwifruit producer Zeus Kiwi has announced that it has signed an agreement with agrochemical company Syngenta for the use of the latter’s crop management initiative Signia.

Under the terms of the contract, Syngenta will provide technical support to the Zeus Kiwifruit Producers Organisation in respect of crop protection and product safety, Zeus Kiwi general manager Christina Manossis told Fruitnet.com.

The agreement will also seek to improve fruit shelf-life and the organisation’s marketing campaigns.

In a separate development, Zeus Kiwi has said it expects its first-ever organic kiwifruit volumes to reach 500 tonnes this year, after beginning production.
