IFST

The UK-based Institute of Food Science & Technology (IFST) has relaunched its website in order to better serve and engage all sectors of public interest in food science and technology, and meet the growing needs of members, the group has announced.

Providing the public with impartial information, the website aims to meet the needs of scientists, teachers, IFST members, opinion formers, journalists and future food professionals and provide visitors with a valuable information resource on food issues, IFST, its publications and activities, as well as general information on food science and technology.

The new-look site has been completely rebuilt to provide the user with improved functionality, accessibility and navigation. An additional feature is the new 'Hot Spot' which will deliver regular news and items of interest. The exclusive Members' Area will provide improved networking for members, including a committee intranet facility.

IFST's careers and schools website continues to be linked to the main site.

Helen Gay Wild, IFST's chief executive, said: “IFST pioneered the first professional food science and technology website in 1995, which has since received worldwide recognition. We are very pleased with the new IFST website which will prove invaluable in achieving our objectives of serving the public through providing impartial scientific advice, representing the profession and supporting food professionals.”
