Fraich’attitude week was launched in France on 28 May, the annual initiative organised by the interprofessional organisation Interfel that aims to encourage the consumption of fresh produce. This year the event consisted of 25,000 individual activities in 116 towns around the country.

The French Minister of Agriculture, Michel Barnier, was on hand to thank the entire fresh produce sector for the hard work that has been put into increasing fruit and vegetable consumption in the country.

Amongst other activities, Parisians have been encouraged to ride bicycles for the week, with cyclists being offered free fruit and vegetables along a specially designed course. Interfel president Gilles Vignaud commented: 'One of the main ideas is to remind people of the importance of the balance between having a good diet and taking regular exercise.'
