Produce World sites get BRC A* nod

The UK’s largest vegetable grower, Produce World, has been awarded A* status at three of its sites by the BRC.

The company’s Yaxley, Sutton Bridge and Isleham sites, which specialise in organics, potatoes and roots respectively, were audited unannounced. BRC audits take place annually and this is the fourth consecutive year that Produce World Yaxley and Isleham have achieved the top rating.

Unannounced BRC audits are still rarein the fresh produce sector, but in the coming months unannounced audits are set to become more prevalent within the industry.

Produce World Yaxley and Isleham’s technical manager, Louise Cattell, will be speaking about the experience of being audited by the BRC at the forthcoming CERT ID conference on 19September at the Birmingham NEC.
