The Flower Sprout cross bouquet

Vegetable supplier Produce World has launched a bouquet of Flower Sprouts in time for Valentine’s Day this Friday.

The company has teamed up with independent florist No.10 Flowers in Market Harborough to create the unique arrangement.

The bouquets are being stocked in limited numbers at the florist.

Flower Sprout is a cross between Brussels sprouts and kale, and is said to have double the amount of vitamins E and B6 as the original sprout.

Dara O’Doherty, NPD manager at Produce World, said the new bouquet will appeal to those who usually shy away from sprouts.

“We are very excited about this new vegetable. Flower Sprouts are extremely versatile and can be boiled, steamed, stir-fried or cooked in the microwave. They are milder and sweeter than the traditional Brussels sprout.”

The bouquet can be enjoyed as a simple flower arrangement, or used as an accompaniment to a meal.
