Zari apples: Exhibitors at CarFest South

Apple brand Zari has its first-ever presence at the CarFest music, food and classic car festival.

The AC Goatham-owned apple brand has a stand at the southern location of the show, taking place tomorrow (22 August) until Sunday 24 August.

As well as a presence in the VIP area, the Zari team are entering Zari muffins in the Cake versus Pie competition, judged by Great British Bake Off hosts Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry.

Zari apples are the third fresh produce item exhibiting at the show, along with Pink Lady apples and Tenderstem broccoli.

Head of media for AC Goatham, Sarah Calcutt, said the first Zari apples were picked on Monday so the timing of the festival was perfect.

“We have a really nice stand in the Best of British area. It’s exciting to be here for the first time,” she said.

CarFest South is at Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire. It is the brainchild of Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans and raises money for BBC Children in Need.

According to festival information, the typical CarFest visitor has an average annual household income of £76,000 and 66 per cent of them are married with children.

The event touts itself as a chance to meet a national audience as visitors travel from across the UK, as well a hard-to-reach demographic as 64 per cent say they have never visited a food event before.
