The Viscount De L’Isle MBE, Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Kent, officially present Marco with its Queen’s Enterprise Award for Outstanding Performance in International Trade at the machinery firm's headquarters in Edenbridge, Kent, on Monday (15 September).
Following the formal introductions at the champagne reception, the Lord Lieutenant was given a brief overview of the company’s hardware and software capabilities for improving productivity.
During the official presentation of the crystal rose bowl and certificate to Marco’s co-founder Murray Hilborne, the Lord Lieutenant praised the company for its achievement.
In a short speech following the presentation, Hilborne thanked the Lord Lieutenant and the Deputy Lord Lieutenant: “Today is a fitting reward for the Marco team, who have worked extremely hard to develop our international business over the past five years,' he said.
'To be one of only three companies in Kent to achieve this prestigious award is a great honour. We have exciting plans for the future and are looking forward to developing new international market areas.”
