Nick Marston charity triumph berry gardens

Marston, left, and Macgregor travel in style

Berry Gardens' MD Nick Marston battled against the elements and completed this year’s Club Triumph Round Britain Run in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Partnered by his friend and co-driver Dave Macgregor, Marston used his beloved Triumph TR6 for the challenge, which, at just over 40, was the youngest member of the team. They have so far raised around £4,300 for the charity.

Covering a total of 2,020 miles in 48 hours, the event started and finished in Essex.

Leaving Crews Hill at 6pm on Friday, 3 October, the teams drove as far north as John O’Groats, before heading back south via Wrexham and Monmouth in Waes. They then went across across the Severn Bridge back into England and onto Land's End.

After breakfast, and with a view of the Atlantic, the team drove back to the starting point on Sunday, 5 October.

In the course of the event, Marston and Macgregor battled against torrential rain on the Friday night, with the TR6’s windscreen wipers on overdrive, and then enjoyed the autumn sunshine on Sunday, even daring to have the top down.
