Well-known fruit trader Ian Bowie has died, aged 77.

Bowie died suddenly in Bequia, West Indies, on 6 March and was buried in Northington, Hampshire this week following a service at St John's Church in the village.

Bowie ran his own company, Robert Bowie Ltd, and was active in the London Fruit Markets, particularly Borough and Greenwich, as well as Knowl Hill Garage.

He leaves behind wife Tina, four children and step-children, and 12 grandchildren.
