Strong sales of Jersey Royal potatoes, asparagus and strawberries have helped boost Waitrose sales.
In the week to 16 April 2016, year on year total sales excluding fuel were 3.4 per cent higher than last year.
The positive sales growth comes in the same week of a launch of a major new ad campaign to show customers where the retailer's food comes from.
The ads are being filmed at its farms on the same day as they are broadcast.
