Joanne Denny-Finch CEO IGD

IGD chief executive Joanne Denney-Finch has announced she is stepping down from the grocery charity after 20 years in the role.

Denney Finch, who will leave the research specialist in September, said she wanted to explore other opportunities in her professional and personal life, which require more time than a full-time position allows.

“Today, the charity has never been stronger and is in an excellent position for the future,' she said. 'In addition, last year marked 20 consecutive years of growth in the trading company at IGD - and I feel it too is in great shape for the future. It feels like the right time for me to take this next step, knowing that both the organisation and the wider team are in a strong position moving forward.

“I still feel as passionate about IGD as the day I arrived. I feel passionate about the team here and the relationships that we have built with industry, I feel passionate about the industry in which I have worked for over three decades and I look forward to seeing the business go from strength to strength in the future.'

IGD Trustees have begun the search for Denney-Finch's successor, she added.
