Citrus

The restructuring of the Australian citrus industry has taken a giant step forward with the formation of a new national peak body, Citrus Australia Ltd, which will replace the Board of Australian Citrus Growers (ACG) before 14 October.

At the ACG's AGM on 29 May, plans were outlined to encourage grower industry bodies to amalgamate into one integrated structure. 'For the first time, individual citrus growers will own and direct their national body,' said ACG president Mark Chown.
