Company secures robust kiwifruit returns as it expands into citrus, having made a number of operational improvements

A strong performances in its kiwifruit business, and expansion in new product areas such as citrus, have enabled New Zealand company Seeka to raise its full-year earnings forecast.
In a statement, the group said it had increased its pre-tax profit guidance for 2026 to between NZ$41.0mn and NZ$45.0mn, compared with a previous estimate of between NZ$39.0mn and NZ$43.0mn.
“The company has traded strongly through the third quarter,” it said. “The uplift reflects the continuing focus on operating margins, the incorporation of the New Zealand kiwifruit returns from Zespri, and Seeka’s growing produce business and in particular citrus.”
It added: “Seeka has maintained a disciplined focus on operating efficiencies and has delivered further savings through its captive insurance programme.”
In August, the company reported a record net profit before tax of NZ$62.6mn for the six months to 30 June 2026, up 5 per cent on the previous corresponding period.
It said the result reflected stronger margins, improved operational performance, and the benefits of its continued investment in post-harvest automation.
