Ammeraal Beltech has championed its specialised belting solutions for the potato sector to address key challenges in produce handling applications.

“Efficient potato harvesting requires more than just good timing – it demands the right equipment to handle crops safely from field to storage”, the Netherlands-based company stated. “Especially when transporting potatoes on an incline, standard conveyor belts may fall short. That’s why Ammeraal Beltech has developed specialised belting solutions tailored to the agricultural sector.”

One of the main challenges in crop handling is ensuring that potatoes do not slip or fall during transport, particularly on inclined conveyors. To address this, Ammeraal Beltech incorporates profiled rubber belts and inclined cleats into their systems. “These features provide the grip and control necessary to move bulk crops without loss or damage,” it confirmed.

Ammeraal Beltech’s outdoor belts are also engineered for durability in rugged farming conditions.  Built to carry heavy loads, they are “ideally suited” for the tough demands of agricultural applications. They not only enhance productivity but also help reduce product loss, ensuring that more of each harvest reaches its destination intact.

For heavy-duty agricultural applications, Ammeraal Beltech recommends several rubber belting products.

Firstly, cleated rubber belts, which are fully integrated into the main belt structure through a process called homogeneous vulcanisation. This ensures 100 per cent adhesion between the cleats and the belt, providing exceptional reliability during operation.

Secondly, profiled rubber belts, designed with textured surfaces to improve grip and prevent slippage of produce during inclined transport.

And finally, U chevron belts, which minimise issues such as product carry-back, belt slip, and waste by directing the flow of material along the belt’s central path, “even in challenging conditions”.

“With these innovative belting solutions, Ammeraal Beltech supports farmers and agricultural processors in optimising their harvest logistics,” the company noted. “Our commitment to performance, reliability, and crop safety makes us a trusted partner in the agricultural industry.

“For growers looking to upgrade their potato handling systems, these belt technologies offer a practical and durable investment for the future.”
