In March 2027, Fruitnet Berry Congress, Planasa, and Fall Creek will align their international berry business events for first time
Three of the world’s leading names in berries have aligned their calendars for the first time, bringing three of the berry industry’s most important events into a single coordinated week called Berry Business Week 2027.
Taking place during the week commencing 15 March 2027, the initiative makes it easier than ever for international visitors to see the latest developments in berry breeding, production, marketing, and category innovation during a single trip.
The week includes:
• Fruitnet Berry Congress – 15-16 March at Barcelo Punta Umbria Beach Resort, Huelva
• Planasa’s Meet & Greet – 17 March at Planasa R&D Centre in Cartaya, Huelva
• Fall Creek’s Field + Forum – 18 March at Fall Creek’s R&D Centre Villamanrique de la Condesa, Seville
Throughout the week, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from leading experts, visit world-class breeding programmes, discover the latest varietal innovations, taste new berry selections, exchange ideas with industry leaders, and build valuable international connections.
Designed for retailers, category managers, growers, marketers, and berry professionals from around the world, Berry Business Week aims to maximise the value of every visit by bringing together complementary events that traditionally required separate trips.
Beyond the technical content, the initiative reflects a shared commitment among the participating organisations to strengthen collaboration across the berry value chain and help drive the future of the category.
Mike Knowles, managing director of Fruitnet Europe, comments: “Berry Business Week represents a unique opportunity for the berry industry to come together in one place. By aligning our events, we can offer visitors an exceptional combination of market insight, technical knowledge, and networking opportunities that will help shape the future of the berry business.”
Hans Liekens, global director of marketing and innovation at Planasa, believes the initiative reflects the industry’s willingness to collaborate for the benefit of the entire value chain: “We believe that innovation becomes more valuable when it is shared. Berry Business Week is an opportunity to open our doors, listen to the market, showcase our breeding programmes and work together with partners across the industry to continue developing berries that meet the needs of growers, retailers and consumers.”
For Paul Nselel, chief commercial officer at Fall Creek, the collaboration demonstrates what can be achieved when organisations work towards a common goal: “Growers don’t build confidence in a new variety from a data sheet, they build it by seeing it, asking questions, and coming back to check on it. Seeing several of us in the same week, rather than visiting each one separately, means more growers actually get that chance.”
The main goal of Berry Business Week is to create a platform where innovation, market insight, and collaboration combine to help shape the future of the berry industry.
The final programme and full content will be announced in the coming weeks, when registration will also open.
