German markets association to mark quarter-century of industry advocacy with anniversary edition of flagship networking event in Berlin

German markets association GFI is to mark its 25th anniversary in Berlin next February at its annual industry networking event, Fructinale.
The event, which is styled on the famous Berlinale film festival, will be held on Thursday 5 February during Fruit Logistica 2026 at The Deep, a spectacular pillared cathedral beneath the old Bötzow Brewery on Prenzlauer Allee.
“This year’s Fructinale will be an anniversary special,” says Uwe Kluge, GFI chairman and managing director of Duisburg Kontor. “For 25 years, we have been passionately committed to our markets and their role in the fresh produce value chain.”
According to GFI, the new venue is said to offer an exceptional atmosphere, state-of-the-art equipment, and freshly prepared food from its on-site kitchen – perfect for relaxation after a busy day at the trade fair.
“In addition to the traditional award ceremony, where we present our Buddy Bears to friends and partners from the industry, guests will be treated to some exciting show acts,” Kluge explains. “And, of course, there will be plenty of time for networking and good conversation.”
The chairman said he was happy to count on the broad support of numerous sponsors from sectors like production, wholesale, logistics, services and media, and expected to host around 250 guests this time around.
“We are incredibly grateful to all of our partners, those who have been with us from the beginning, and those who just joined us. Once again, we have set a new record for sponsorships.”
