Cesena Fiera confirms partnership with Informa Markets to create new greenhouse production technologies event in 2027

The next edition of Italian trade fair Macfrut will take place in Rimini in April 2027 alongside Growtech Europe, organiser Cesena Fiera has confirmed.
The announcement came at the end of Macfrut’s 43rd edition, which reportedly welcomed more than 1,400 exhibitors and saw a 12 per cent increase in international attendance this year, attracting buyers from over 80 countries.
Organiser Cesena Fiera said the success of this week’s edition had been made possible in part thanks to its institutional partners, and singled out the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) for its “outstanding collaboration” in bringing delegations from all continents, as well as to AICS (Italian Agency for Development Cooperation) for “its commitment to promoting sustainable agriculture”.
The trade fair also featured a high-level scientific conferences covering the entire supply chain, with contributions from leading international experts and the launch of a new research project called the Macfrut-Nomisma Fruit and Vegetable Observatory.
“The strong presence of Italian large-scale retail was another key highlight, with an even more significant participation already expected for the next edition,” the organiser said in a statement.

Expansion plan
According to Patrizio Neri, president of Cesena Fiera, the latest edition sets the stage for further global expansion.
“For next year, we have already introduced several new features, starting with a new exhibition layout that will make the event more accessible for visitors and buyers, while enhancing its effectiveness for exhibitors,” he said. “We are also extremely pleased with the level of attendance and the growing international profile of the trade fair.”
A strategic agreement with Informa, organiser of pre-harvest technology event Growtech in Antalya, Turkey, will see the creation of a new event called Growtech Europe, to be held alongside Macfrut on 20-22 April 2027.
Engin Er, director of Growtech Exhibitions, commented: “Growtech has evolved beyond a single exhibition into a global platform connecting agricultural markets across regions.
“With Growtech Europe, we are bringing our strong expertise and international network into the heart of Europe. Our partnership with Macfrut creates a unique value proposition by combining complementary strengths and delivering greater business opportunities for our stakeholders.”
Neri added: “The agreement with Growtech represents a fundamental step in Macfrut’s internationalisation strategy. Enhancing the attendance of buyers and visitors with a leading event in greenhouse production technologies allows us to expand our exhibition offering, covering the entire production process.
“At a time when agriculture must address global challenges such as climate change and resource efficiency, this synergy transforms Italy – and Rimini in particular – into a global hub for agricultural innovation, offering exhibitors and visitors unique networking opportunities and a 360-degree vision of the sector’s future.”
