Aldi has cut the price of more than 30 household grocery staples.

In the latest round of price cutting by a supermarket, a number of fresh produce items feature prominently among the reductions.

They include a five-pack of Everyday Essentials oranges, 6p off at 89p; 250g of pak choi, 10p off at 99p; a six-pack of Everyday Essentials apples, 4p off at 95p; a four-pack of flat peaches, 4p off at 85p; and a 600g pack of Specially Selected easy peelers, 10p off at £1.39.

The discounter has now cut more than 130 prices in the past two months across its entire range.

Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, said: “Our promise is that we will always offer the lowest grocery prices and we’re doing everything we can to pass savings on to our customers. As Britain’s cheapest supermarket, shoppers are switching to Aldi from every other supermarket.”
