Appletiser expands its brand

Fizzy fruit juice brand Appletiser is launching a 100 per cent natural pear juice drink.

Peartiser will be the only drink in the UK that uses nothing but pears and will feature a 'part of your 5 A DAY’ message on bottle caps.

According to the company, the new drink remains faithful to the company’s healthy proposition of adult indulgence without the guilt.

Each lightly sparkling 275ml bottle contains no preservatives, additives or added sugar and is made using only the juice from a variety of pears.

The launch will be supported by an advertising and PR campaign, on-pack communications and POS material.

The company will also continue to sponsor tv show Friends. It said the cult programme would act as an excellent platform for the new product launch, and will target 16-34 year old women - Peartiser’s core audience.

Sally Marshall, European marketing manager for Appletiser, said: “Like Appletiser, Peartiser is a stylish, adult alternative to alcohol that can be consumed on a number of drinking occasions from lunchtime eating to a night out with the girls. The launch of Peartiser is set to be the first of many brand extensions that will build upon Appletiser’s success since the product packaging was re-designed in 2004.”

Andy Saunders, commercial executive on Appletiser, said: “We predict increased growth for the Appletiser family throughout 2007 accompanied by a greater penetration into the adult soft drink category so we advise retailers to stock up to take advantage of this premium product.”
