Food research organisation Campden BRI is holding a seminar on improved, rapid food microbiology testing techniques.

In order to keep the food industry up to date on the latest developments in providing more accurate results more speedily, Campden BRI is holding a seminar on 11 June, which will feature some of the most important trends.

Leonie Watson, event director, said: “The development of rapid methods for food microbiological analysis is very important, as most products that require analysing have a short shelf life, and a result within hours rather than days can significantly improve the assurance of food safety.

"As well as an overview of rapid method technologies and presentations on a variety of new and emerging methods, we will also be considering method validation. This is particularly important as any new method produced, as well as speeding up the whole analytical process, must be shown to be at least as accurate as current standard methods. In addition, there will be an exhibition from rapid method kit manufacturers to illustrate some of the trends featured in the seminar.”
