The Fresh Herbs Group has clubbed together once again in 2008 for further investment into its Fresh Herbs campaign.

The seven members of the group - R&G Fresh Herb, Humber VHB, Lighthorne Herbs, Scotherbs, Swedeponic, Arava and Agrexco - plan to build on and extend last year’s PR campaign, carried out with Sputnik Communications, in a bid to continue raising the profile of fresh herbs. The seven firms represent 90 per cent of fresh culinary herbs sold in UK supermarkets.

This year, the campaign will focus on educating consumers, more specifically young professionals, about how to use fresh herbs.

Mathew Prestwich, a spokesman for Fresh Herbs, said: “Last year’s campaign was a huge success; the category has continued to grow at a significant rate, which demonstrates that there is no better time to use PR to push our messages and encourage more people to experiment with fresh herbs.”

The campaign will also look to expands its website - www.fresh-herbs.co.uk - to offer further tips and advice to both consumers and the media.
