IGD’s annual Food Industry Awards are now open for receiving entries.

In its 20th year, this awards ceremony facilitates companies and individuals across a variety of categories, from sustainability and supply chain excellence, to consumer understanding and social innovation.

IGD chief executive Joanne Denney-Finch, said: “As we emerge from the downturn, it's even more important that we reflect and recognise those that are standing out from the crowd.”

The closing date for entries is 31 May, 2010 and the shortlisted names will be announced in July.

It is a great achievement to win one of these awards, as Paul Lindley from Ella's Kitchen, last year’s winner of outstanding small business, said: “Winning this award means we have the added recognition of the prestigious IGD industry body, which gives us a huge amount of credibility and kudos when we are talking to our customers, suppliers and the media - as well as a huge amount of team pride."

The winners will be announced on 12 October 2010 at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London. The ceremony will be attended by more than 500 industry leaders, including chairmen and chief executives from leading food retailers and manufacturers.
