Mack has expanded its wholesale presence in Bristol, with the acquisition of Percy J Down on the city’s market last week.

Mack PJ Down started trading on October 1. All 14 members of Percy J Down’s staff transferred and the newly acquired business is working alongside the Mack Bristol branch, managed by Paul Williams.

He said: “We welcome our new members of staff to Mack and look forward to maintaining and developing customer relationships at our Bristol operations over the coming months. Bringing Percy J Down into Mack means we’re combining two very long established family companies and strengthening Mack Bristol with a particular specialisation from P J Down who are known for their delivered business predominantly to caterers and secondary wholesalers. This broadens the customer profile of Mack Bristol. We’ve now got a more efficient amount of square footage in the market and an extension of our trading partners.”
