Australian grape producer acquires growing and marketing rights to gold-fleshed kiwifruit varietals from SINO-NZ Innovation

The Helloo brand owned by leading Australian produce supplier Grape Co Australia has secured exclusive growing and marketing rights to leading gold-fleshed kiwi varietals from breeder SINO-NZ Innovation.
Commercialisation rights (Australia only) for H14, a premium gold-fleshed kiwifruit variety, will allow Grape Co to partner with select producers across key growing regions.
The agreement positions Grape Co as the exclusive Australian marketer of the variety and allows the company to sub-license production to selected growers nationally.
The move comes amid growing global demand for premium gold kiwifruit, driven by consumer interest in healthier snack alternatives and nutrient-dense ‘superfruits’.
Gold kiwifruit is recognised for its naturally high vitamin C content, smooth tropical flavour profile and strong consumer appeal compared with traditional green kiwifruit varieties.
“There’s a real opportunity emerging in premium gold kiwifruit,” said Adrian Caia, director of Grape Co Australia.
“Consumers are looking for healthier products that still deliver on flavour and eating experience, and gold kiwi fits that perfectly. We also see a strong opportunity for Australian growers looking to diversify into premium categories with growing consumer demand.”
Grape Co plans to leverage its strong market position in premium table grapes, along with the nationally recognised Hellooo brand platform, to help build awareness and retail presence for the category. The company believes its experience in consumer branding, packaging and retail activation can help accelerate premium gold kiwifruit’s position within key fresh produce categories.
Sub-licensing discussions with prospective grower partners are already underway, with first plantings expected in 2027 – commercial from 2030. Grape Co will coordinate national marketing, packaging and retail programmes for the variety.
The company believes the category still has significant untapped potential in Australia, particularly as consumers continue shifting toward convenient, nutritious fresh produce options with strong flavour and visual appeal.
“This represents a strong long-term opportunity to further grow excitement around a fruit category that already has an exceptional foundation,” Caia said.
“Gold kiwifruit delivers on the key attributes consumers are seeking today, outstanding flavour, natural health benefits and a premium eating experience.”
