Agreement signed with Verona-based Lucchini Berries for Easy Rose ALEL101, a light-pink primocane raspberry already evaluated across six countries

Fall Creek Farm and Nursery has announced that it has entered into an exclusive propagation and sales license agreement with Lucchini Berries for Easy Rose ALEL101, a primocane raspberry developed by Elisa and Alessandro Lucchini in Verona, Italy.
The partnership follows Fall Creek’s June 2026 acquisition of Berryplant and Berrytech and is described as another step in the company’s development of its raspberry and blackberry businesses.
Easy Rose ALEL101 is in its fourth year of cultivation and has been evaluated and planted in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Mexico, Morocco and Egypt.
Fall Creek said it will continue evaluation in additional territories and commercialise the variety in countries where trials are successful.
The variety can be grown in both primocane and floricane cycles, it said, and has shown potential for a third crop under favourable conditions.
In primocane production, harvest of the variety can begin 90-100 days after transplanting.
”Easy Rose ALEL101 produces fruit averaging more than 7g, with a light pink colour at full ripeness, firm and dry texture and sweet flavour,” Fall Creek stated.
The variety has also been evaluated in mild and Mediterranean climates and at higher latitudes, with production extending across the harvest season.
“We have always believed in the potential of Easy Rose ALEL101,” said Lucchini Berries owner Alessandro Lucchini.
”I believe Fall Creek is the partner that can truly help it take off, bringing the structure, experience and international presence needed to reach growers and markets around the world.”
Burgert van Dyk, Fall Creek rubus product director, pointed out that Elisa and Alessandro Lucchini had bred and tested Easy Rose ALEL101 across several countries before Fall Creek became involved.
”Our part now is nursery production and grower support: multiplying the variety, supporting growers in the field and helping determine where it makes commercial sense next,” he added.
