US table grape grower-shipper Pandol Bros. Inc is launching its new Quick Rinse Cube packaging concept that it says will deliver greater convenience and time savings to consumers.
The system is a unique, clear plastic grape container designed to be held directly under a kitchen faucet, allowing for thorough rinsing of the fruit under the instructions 'Rinse, Shake and Serve'.
'This represents a ground-breaking change for the grape category and is directly in line with what time-starved consumers are seeking,' said Tristan Kieva, director of business development and marketing at Pandol.
Using a clear cube design visibly conveys freshness and quality by creating a product showcase, Pandol said, allowing the fruit to be easily viewed from all sides, while category research has indicated that around one-third of US consumers cite convenience as one of their top preferences.
A year in development, the Quick Rinse Cube has been designed with the help of retailer input, solicited at important steps throughout the process.
'The retailer perspective represented a critical component of our design direction,' Ms Kieva added. 'That influence is a big reason why our presentation of the finished package to retailers has been so enthusiastically received. They are anxious to get it on their shelves.'
