FruitImprese - ex Aneioa

Italian fresh produce exporters' association Aneioa has been renamed as FruitImprese, the Association of Fresh Produce Enterprises, following a major overhaul.

According to the organisation, which celebrates its 60th anniversary next year, the renaming follows months of discussion between member companies, who reached the conclusion that a new identity was required both in terms of its public image and also the way it operates.

The new name, as well as a new logo, have apparently been designed to convey the body's sense of tradition but also its focus on future development. The group's founding constitution has also been adapted in order to increase the involvement of member companies and to make the organisation stronger and more efficient.

FruitImprese counts some 380 companies among its members, accounting for a combined annual turnover of some €4.5bn - of which €1.5bn is earned from half of Italy's total export sales.

At present, FruitImprese members together produce around 5m tonnes of fresh fruit and vegetables, exporting 1.7m tonnes of that figure.

FruitImprese's organisational structure comprises a president, assembly, council, legislative body, individual departments and technical committees.
