Between 20 March and 30 March, associations, farmers and institutions throughout France are holding hundreds of activities to educate the public on the health and environmental risks of pesticide use.
This is the third edition of the Semaine Sans Pesticides (Week Without Pesticides), an annual campaign launched in 2006 by members of ACAP, the Citizens’ Action For Pesticide Alternatives.
The campaign’s aim is to demonstrate to the public that viable alternatives to chemical treatments exist.
Elsewhere across Europe, activities are also being organised in Belgium, Italy, Macedonia, Slovakia, Slovenia and the UK.
