Paolo Bruni Apo Conerpo

Paolo Bruni has been re-elected as president of leading Italian cooperative Apo Conerpo, Europe’s largest fresh fruit and vegetable producer organisation, for the next three years.

During a special assembly of Apo Conerpo members, Mr Bruni, who also holds the presidency of national agricultural organisation Fedagri/Confcooperative, said the group would maintain its strategy of reorganisation and modernisation which has seen it increase its volume of marketed fresh produce from 595m to 701m tonnes in the past three years, with total annual turnover now in excess of €700m.

“Our policy over the past few years has led to the creation of three giant cooperatives: Agrintesa, Fruit Modena and Patfrut,” he commented. “During the next three years, we will continue to add value to our members’ production, concentrating in particular on research and innovation in order to offer a product that is more and more in tune with the needs of consumers.”
