A study undertaken by the British Market Research Bureau regarding packaging waste has found that major UK supermarkets are lagging behind markets and smaller retailers in reducing the amount of packaging waste they produce. The report, published in The Guardian, found that larger retailers such as Marks & Spencer and Lidl were still using up to 38 per cent of packaging that could not be recycled.
