Tunisia

Tunisia, the second biggest exporter of organic produce in Africa, this week saw the launch of Tunisian Organic Produce Week, initiated by the ministry of agriculture, water resources and fisheries, with the cooperation of the Tunisian Union of Agriculture and Fisheries (UTAP).

During this week, the country's new label dedicated to organic produce, Bio Tunisia, will be unveiled, according to Bio Addict.

The label, visible as a sticker on the product itself or on its packaging, was conceived to assist consumers in easily spotting Tunisian organic produce both domestically and abroad.

The mark will also promote Tunisian organic agriculture in general and add value to various products grown in Tunisia, including dates, olive oil and a number of fruits.
