The newly appointed board of Unaproa, Italy's union of fresh fruitand vegetable producer organisations, has appointed GiandomenicoConsalvo as vice-president.
Mr Consalvo, who has been a board member of Italian agricultural bodyConfagricoltura since 2006 and is also president of Civi-Italia, thecountry's interprofessional consortium for horticultural nurseries,will work alongside Marco Crotti, who has been vice-president ofUnaproa since 1999, and report to its Davide Vernocchi, appointed lastmonth as president following the departure of Fabrizio Marzano.
“I am taking on this role in the knowledge that we will be called uponto make Unaproa more and more responsive to the interests of allproducer organisations,' said Mr Consalvo. 'I am ready to work withPresident Vernocchi towards the objectives of relaunching and renewingUnaproa's board.'
