Strawberry availability from Spain are experiencing a seasonal blip. Rainfall in the main growing area of Huelva over the past week, which was continuing as the Journal went to press, combined with cool nights is slowing supplies. 'The anticipated strawberry build up for retail customers in the coming week is slightly delayed,' reported AFI Direct Sales Ian Waller. 'Scattered rain and cloud is forecast until Saturday so we are looking at potential interruption to supplies into next week.' Product quality is reported to be good with Cartuno, Cal Giant and Eris all complementing supplies of the mainstay variety, Camerosa.
