Ireland has found it first cases this year of potato blight according to an announcement by Teagasc, the Irish agriculture and food development authority.
The first outbreaks have been in Cork, Kilkenny and Wexford. The authority has reported that the disease was recorded in Cork on May 6 and spread to Wexford and south Kilkenny in the past week.
Teagasc monitors outbreaks of blight in Ireland in an effort to help potato growers implement effective control programmes.
