Peruvian mango invitation

The Peruvian association of mango exporters, Apem, is organising its third international conference on Peruvian mango. The two-day event runs from July 1-2 and features speakers from the mango sector world-wide as well as other fresh produce sectors, including grape, from Peru.

Topics covered included the implementation of quality standards and good agricultural practice in fresh fruit production, post-harvest advances in Brazil, export possibilities for grape, avocado, citrus and other fresh fruit from the mango stronghold of Piura, Peru.

On day two, speakers will update delegates on the mango sectors in Brazil, Peru, Ecuador and South Africa as well as give an address on the US market for mangoes. Significantly there will also be a panel session to close the meeting on joint strategies for southern hemisphere mango exporters from Brazil, Ecuador, Peru and South Africa. The event is being held in Piura and further information is available from apem@cpi.udep.edu.pe
