Steven Myers, chef at Escape, Ilkley, was crowned the winner of the Great British Pub & Restaurant Challenge 2004.
The event was run by the pea growers of Britain, PVGA and Myers beat off seven other finalists from around the country by creating an exciting starter and main course using vegetables, and of course, peas,
The finalists not only cooked against each other, but also against the clock. Judges included past winner of Masterchef Julie Friend and Rachel Green, Yorkshire Television's new celebrity chef.
The runners-up were Helene Schoeman and Tomislav Martinovic.
