The valuable Turkish export industry will display its wares at its third annual fresh produce fair, Fresh Antalya, next month.

Taking place at the Antalya Expo Center on March 19 - 21 with an expected increase on last year’s turnout of almost 6,000 visitors to its 100-plus stands.

Turkey’s fresh produce output holds an important place in the worldwide production of fresh produced in quantity as well as variety. More than 80 species of 140 types of fruit and vegetables exported worldwide are grown in Turkey.

The country has a tomato production of 10 million tonnes attaining eight per cent of global tomato production ranks third in the world production of tomatoes.

Export in Turkey registered an increase of 13 per cent in quantity and 17 per cent in value between January 1 and September 14 2008 when compared with the same period the previous year.

Fresh Antalya has become the meeting point for the trade professionals of Eastern Mediterranean region.
