Londis is to stock bumper pumpkins for the first time as it implements a number of deals on the Halloween staple.

Londis retailers are looking forward to “scarily good” sales this Halloween with extra large pumpkins of 4.5-6kg on offer for the first time.

Londis trading director Willie Hamilton said: “Halloween is increasingly being seen as a great footfall driver and we are equipping our Londis retail partners with some of the largest pumpkins in the market.”

Grown on the Lancashire coast, where farmers have been growing pumpkins for 20 years, harvesting has just begun for the favoured varieties of Spellbound and Spirit, grown especially for Halloween.

The extra large varieties will have an RRP of £2.99, with medium and large pumpkins also on special offer at £2 each and with margin of 20 per cent for retailers.
