Polish apples

In Poland, only around 40 per cent of the country's potential apple exports are currently being shipped, attributed to the ongoing Russian ban on imports.

This is according to Polish minister of agriculture Marek Sawicki, who told Polska Agencja Prasowa that its exporters were looking for alternative markets, which was proving impossible at such short notice, fruit-inform reported.

'Every market we can access, whether it be India, Indonesia, Singapore or the United States, is very much needed,' said Sawicki. 'We should also not be discouraged by the fact that we may start by selling just a few thousand tonnes, because that could later develop into millions.'
