Brassica brand Tenderstem were once again sponsors of this years Guild of Food Writers Awards at the Opera Holland Park tent held last week.

Leading food writers, journalists, publishers and other influencers in the UK food world attended the event including Guild president, Xanthe Clay, The Guardian food writer, Meera Sodha and Financial Times columnist and food broadcaster, Tim Hayward.

Tanya Lewis-Hall from the London School of Journalism and Joe Lyness from Goldsmiths, University of London were invited to the awards as guests of Tenderstem, having been nominated by their tutors to receive the invitation.

This year the food writing award was won by The Guardian’s Joanna Blythman while the Lifetime Achievement Award was given to author, cookery teacher and food historian Anne Willan, described as the Englishwoman who taught the French how to cook.
