G’s Fresh has teamed up with chia seed growers The Chia Co to add seed sachets into bags of their Fresh & Naked Spinach.
On sale in Tesco stores since 17 July, shoppers can find a free 7.5g “shot” of chia seeds inside bags of spinach, with a recipe for a spinach and chia pesto on the packet.
Described as another superfood, chia seeds contain the much coveted omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants, as well as being gluten free.
Anthony Gardiner, marketing director at G’s Fresh, producer of Fresh & Naked said: “We connected with The Chia Co to be able to share an added nutrition boost to everyone who enjoys our spinach. We love working with brands that share our beliefs.”
Becky McCaul, UK marketing manager of The Chia Co added: “Chia is slowly but surely establishing itself amongst the health-conscious. We hope that by partnering with a recognised superfood such as spinach we can reach a more mainstream audience and introduce them to the benefits of Chia. Working with Fresh & Naked helps us achieve this and we hope many people give the pesto recipe a go.”
The Fresh & Naked Spinach bag with chia shot will retail for around 95pin Tesco stores only.
