Grower-owned body Horticulture Innovation Australia (Hort Innovation) has announced initiatives to boost innovation in the industry.

A Master Class in Global Horticultural Business, described as a ‘mini-MBA’ will be available to growers and professionals in the supply chain.

The ninth-month programme opens for enrolment in late 2016, with 30 places available each year for the coming five-years, combining the expertise of the Wageningen Academy in the Netherlands, New Zeaand’s Lincoln University and Australia’s University of Tasmania.

Hort Innovation ahs also announced a national horticulture PhD scholarship scheme, with six scholarships to be awarded each year for give years, coordinated by the University of Tasmania.

These two initiatives add to Hort Innovations 26 leadership and training projects that are focused on promoting the industry and building future leaders in horticulture.
