Philadelphia-based AgroFresh Solutions has received regulatory approval for its Harvista product in Australia and Landspring for tomatoes in California.

The company says its Harvista near-harvest formulation helps growers to expand their harvest window and keep fruit on the tree for optimal colour, size and firmness. The product will now be available to Australian growers following regulatory approval granted yesterday.

For California tomato producers, AgroFresh’s Landspring formula which supports the seedling has been approved for use in California where TS&L Seed Company will be distributing the product exclusively.

AgroFresh said the extension to California marks a significant boost in the company’s strategic growth as approximately 80 per cent of tomatoes are grown in the sun-kissed state.

“The newly approved Harvista and Landspring registrations are evidence of our commitment to investing in and expanding the footprint of our key technologies into new international markets,” said AgroFresh CEO, Jordi Ferre.

“The benefit for our customers is even greater, as our pre-harvest technology provides advantages from the early growth stage, ultimately resulting in superior produce quality, loss reduction and a bigger return.”
