Leading Peruvian blueberry exporter Camposol has reported a strong start to the 2026/27 season, shipping 342 tonnes of fresh blueberries to China between weeks 18 and 25, a 631 per cent increase on the same period last year.

The result builds on the trajectory the company established during the 2025/26 season, when it exported 9,020 tonnes of blueberries to Asia – 16.5 per cent of Peru’s blueberry exports to the region – positioning itself as Peru’s largest exporter to Asia and the number one supplier to China, where it shipped 7,564 tonnes (84 per cent of its Asia volume).

The start of the new season coincides with the consolidation of 凯沛果 (Kai Péi Guǒ), the brand identity Camposol officially unveiled on 21 July at a ceremony at the Shouheng International Agricultural Market in Gaobeidian, developed specifically to connect with Chinese consumers.

“China has become one of the most strategic markets for Camposol, and 凯沛果 represents our long-term commitment to bring this market the very best of what we do. As we begin the 2026/27 season, we remain focused on delivering consistent quality to Chinese consumers, while continuing to invest — through programs like Origen — in the next generation of blueberries,” said Ricardo Naranjo, CEO of Camposol.

The name 凯沛果 is composed of three characters: “凯” evokes victory and vitality — an echo of ‘Cam’, of Camposol; “沛” conveys abundance, fullness and energy, and carries within it the radical for water, a symbol of life and nourishment; and “果” means fruit. The name retains the essence of the company’s original identity while conveying associations with health and vitality in the Chinese market.

Its development involved more than 300 name proposals, linguistic validation with native speakers across six dialects, and prior legal verification.

“凯沛果 is the identity we developed specifically for the Chinese market. It was a rigorous process: more than 300 name proposals, linguistic validation with native speakers across six dialects, legal verification. We did not improvise. We invested. Because China deserves that,” said Luis Miguel Baanante, china manager of Camposol.

To align with Chinese consumer preferences, Camposol’s operations team maintains strict control over cultivation and post-harvest handling, ensuring every batch retains excellent firmness and shelf life upon arrival at retailers. Local retailers have reported that Camposol blueberries stand out for their long shelf life, stable quality and strong balance of sweetness and acidity.

Camposol’s presence in China dates back to 2018, when the company opened its local subsidiary. Since then, it has built a broad commercial network across multiple sales channels, expanding over time from mainland China to the entire Asian market.

The strategy is also underpinned by logistics and innovation. The Port of Chancay has significantly shortened shipping times to China, and Camposol was among the first Peruvian companies to export blueberries through this route. In November 2025, the company signed a letter of intent with COSCO Shipping Lines Peru to strengthen logistics efficiency and quality control for shipments to China.

This is reinforced by the US$400mn in financing secured in December 2025, part of which supports the Origen breeding programme, launched in February 2026 to address the sector’s main challenges — productivity, consistent quality and adaptability to the world’s most demanding markets — through a single-origin model.

In the coming years, Camposol said it will continue bringing new blueberry varieties to market and, through 凯沛果, will keep offering Chinese consumers fresh, delicious and consistently high-quality blueberries.
