Fruit Logistica Connect India will debut at Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, located alongside Biofach India

Fruit Logistica is to extend its trade show portfolio to India for the first time, after Messe Berlin and NürnbergMesse announced plans to bring the leading fresh produce industry trade show and Biofach, a leading exhibition network for organic food, together in Mumbai.

Fruit Logistica Connect India will debut alongside Biofach India at the Jio World Convention Centre on 25-27 May 2028, creating a dedicated business platform for the country’s fresh fruit and vegetable industry.

According to Messe Berlin, the exhibition will connect growers, exporters, importers, wholesalers, retailers, logistics providers, technology companies and solution providers from across the fresh produce value chain.

For both companies, the co-located events promise to create a stronger business platform for India’s fresh produce and organic food industries while allowing each exhibition to retain its distinct identity, positioning, and market focus.

They will do so, they said, by combining their international networks and industry expertise to offer exhibitors and buyers access to “complementary business communities and broader commercial networks”.

Katrina Leung, Asia Pacific managing director and vice-president at Messe Berlin, emphasised the strategic value of combining both brands’ international reach, while maintaining their distinct positioning and market focus.

“The co-location of Fruit Logistica Connect India and Biofach India will create new opportunities for exhibitors, buyers and industry stakeholders while preserving the unique identity of each event,” she predicted.

“We look forward to strengthening international business connections and supporting the long-term development of both industries together with NürnbergMesse.”

Shared interests

Both parties said they saw areas of shared interest between the fresh produce and organic food sectors, particularly in sustainable production, international trade, supply chains, logistics, retail, innovation and technology.

By bringing those areas together, they suggested, the events would give exhibitors and buyers broader access to “relevant business partners, new market opportunities, and cross-sector connections”.

Sonia Prashar, managing director of NürnbergMesse India, highlighted the partnership’s potential to connect Indian industries more closely with international markets and create added value for exhibitors and buyers across both sectors.

“Our partnership with Messe Berlin reflects a shared vision of bringing together two globally recognised exhibition brands in a way that creates new business opportunities for our customers,” she said.

“We are confident that the co-location of Biofach India and Fruit Logistica Connect India will further support the growth of India’s organic food and fresh produce sectors.”
