Conny peppers

Israeli exporter Agrexco is set to launch its new Conny pepper, a cone-shaped variety developed by Sulat, on the European market. The pepper comes in three colors – red, yellow and orange – and has a high Brix level of 7-11 per cent.

According to Agrexco, Conny peppers, which will be exported from October to the end of May, are a good source of vitamin C and have a long shelf life. In order to assure continuous supply, the peppers are cultivated in climate-controlled greenhouses.

“Cooling in the controlled greenhouses during the hot summer months enables us to plant the Conny peppers in July, thus starting the export season early, with the first Conny peppers to appear on the market soon,” explained Itzhak Shai, Agrexco’s product manager. “Heating during the cold winter months assures continuous harvesting of the pepper according to the same quality standards.”
